Can I stay in my home during the floor sanding process? Yes, however access to the floors will be restricted due to the time needed for the floors to properly dry. What is the most popular type of wood used? Red Oak is the most popular hardwood for use in homes. It is available in a variety of plank sizes ranging from 2-1/4", 3-1/4", 4" or 5". How long do hardwood floors last? A properly maintained hardwood floor will last you a lifetime. Depending on the wear on your floor, you may choose to refinish your floors after many years of beautiful life. How much dust is created by the sanding process? We install plastic over all doorways in the area being sanded. This will help contain the dust from penetrating other areas of your home. There will be a fine film in the sanded areas.
